Our Story
Founded in 1986 by Managing Director Arthur Pinkney, IMEX was born after spotting a gap in the market to supply high-quality parts direct to customers at a keener price than the competition. Arthur’s experience as a parts manager for a MAN dealership inspired his thinking. And he was right, quickly growing a loyal customer base.
Shortly after, IMEX spread its expertise and buying power to other truck brands, as well as engine parts for car, van and light commercial vehicles.
Us, Today
IMEX is now a leader in replacement truck parts for Mercedes, Volvo, Scania, DAF, Renault, MAN and Iveco. Alongside a comprehensive engine parts range including premium brands Mahle, TRW, King Bearings and Victor Reinz – to name just a few.
Now as a team of 70, our business has grown to incorporate a 45,000 sq ft warehouse space with depots across the country, and a reputation for the widest and most sought-after truck and all-make engine parts in the UK.
Our latest milestone – the acquisition by the global powerhouse, UPG. This strategic partnership signals a significant step forward in IMEX’s mission to provide top-quality parts and unrivalled service to its customers. Universal Parts Group (UPG) is a South African-based automotive company with a growing global footprint. UPG’s head office and core administrative function operates from its world class facility in Witfield, Boksburg in Johannesburg, South Africa.
