Anti-Theft Device Sales Soar
Multipart fleetserve Choose Imex's Anti-Theft Fuel Device!
Following the recently reported theft of diesel worth over £10,000 in Cambridgeshire, where 450 litres were stolen from the tanks of 26 trucks, the threat of diesel theft is now at an all time high. This news had led Imex customer Multipart Fleetserve in Wednesbury into buying 60 Anti-Theft Fuel Devices to aid their fight against the thieves.
Fleetserve's purchase of the units is yet another statement of intent by a leading UK firm following Boughey Distributions decision to purchase 100 units back in March.
IMEX managing director, Arthur Pinkney, is fully aware of the problem and is delighted that his company is able to help:
"Multipart Fleetserves' commitment to ensuring their fleet remains safe from diesel theft represents our second biggest single Anti-Theft order to date and we are delighted to aid their fight against truck crime. Everyone knows the threat of diesel theft but not everyone does something about it. Stolen fuel not only costs money to replace but it also keeps vehicles off the road, which can be very damaging for companies who choose to ignore the warning signs."
With the cost of diesel rising to as much as £1/litre, the FTA estimates that fuel costs represent 30% of the costs of running a 44 tonne lorry. For small businesses that remain unprotected, this could prove to be a costly admission.
Sales of the Anti-Theft units have been rising at a constant level since it's launch back in 2006 - a definite statement of intent from UK operators.
